Welcome

I, Becca, am a Bullpen Baker. Not the ONLY Bullpen Baker, mind you. I've seen other psuedo-bakers in the stands before, and some even feed the security guards. But from time to time, I've been known to bring homemade baked goods to A's games, slide them over to whoever's closest to the rails (which normally seems to be Jay Witasick), and watch as those uniforms go from green and gold and white to green and gold and white and crumbs. And for the beginning of the season, I sort of held back on the baking due to various reasons. Like if I continue to bake for these athletes will I be labled the Cookie Girl forever? And what happens when I'm still doing this, but with massive blue eyeshadow and 14 cats at age 77? And was it my fault that Ricardo Rincon couldn't produce?

But now I've had time to contemplate and come to grips with my imminent future. I'm over it. And since I can now ID who's who in the bullpen (and thankfully my cookies had nothing to do with all of those injuries!), it's time to whip out the butter and chocolate chips and perhaps some glucosomine, and spoon up some delightful morsels. Enjoy!

Sweet new addition to the MLBlogosphere and a very big welcome, Becca! Don't forget the blue-tinted hair at age 77, too! Looking forward to your posts.

Why wait for 77 to have Blue Tinted hair? Here in the Bay Area, you can have it at any age!

Becca, you ought to say hello to Bobby of the MLBlog Deep Fried Fish, who is a professional chef. He's been wanting to talk about ballpark food for a while, but the subject of homebaked goodies for the players is a twist on things.

Hmm. Is this how Mrs. Fields got started?
