thumb wars

todd and i went to fanfest early on sunday morning. we hit the batting cages, he fielded some balls, and we watched assorted mascots wack nerf balls of a tee and shake their furry tushies in search of home runs. but while i had shin splints from standing for 5 hours the day before, what really hurt come monday morning wasn't anything leg-related at all; it was our left thumbs and palms! after consulting webMD, it appears we're suffering from sony playstation-itis or, as it's more commonly known in the game circles, left-thumb-weakling syndrome. so thank you, fanfest, for hypnotizing our moldable brains into thinking that we could outlast those mighty children circling our legs and waving Wiis with abandon.  and yes, those sporty and sparkly baseball video games were fun. but i guess this is a sign we're growing old... or at least our hands are. note to self: must moisturize!
